The duster coat is inspired by the late 19th and early 20th-century utilitarian dust coats worn on car rides and while working to protect the clothing underneath. Its basic loose shape and undyed white or creamy hues evoke simplicity and effortlessness.
It is the details that make the coat - the spacing between buttons, the collar and the size of pockets. The duster coat is meant to elevate an outfit but still feel casual without the need to look pristine.

The main fabric of the coat is a deadstock vintage slub cotton in a medium to heavy weight. Because of the open basketweave it is very breathable, washable, retains shape and naturally resists wrinkles.
The pattern was drafted by hand for the initial sample coat.
It was later digitized and turned into a 3D model using CLO3D software.
The coat features a drop shoulder, a box pleat in the back and a loose fit for ease of movement and layering.
The patch pockets in the front are roomy and easy to access.
The shoulder loop serves as a handy detail for attaching loose scarves, purse straps or other small accessories.
Collar stand detail as it appears on the sewn sample.
Detail in 3D.
Alternate colourway: Olive green lightweight cotton viscose corduroy
